Wolfgang Martin Krolow (Fotograf) i lindur më 1937 në Gërlic (Görlitz), ka qenë në vitin 1961 tre javë në Shqipëri. Ai ka bërë fotografi për një broshurë që do të botohet për të treguar arritjet e socializmit. Më 14 gusht ai mësoi se udhëheqja shtetërore e Gjermanisë Lindore mbylli rigorozisht kufijtë me perëndimin, dhe filloi të ngrinte një Mur me Berlinin Perëndimor. Ai nuk i besoi thashethemeve. Më 25 gusht, u kthye në Gjermaninë Lindore me 45 filmat që kishte shkrepur në Shqipëri. Në Berlin pa me sytë e tij çfarë kishte ndodhur, një mur ishte ndërtuar vërtet në mes të qytetit. Wolfgang M. Krolow bëri gati valixhen dhe kaloi nëpërmjet një shtegu pylli të fshehtë nga Berlini lindor në Perëndim. Më vonë ai shkoi në Mynih ku punoi për një revistë mode.

 

Wolfgang Martin Krolow (Fotograf) geboren 1937 in Görlitz, war 1961 drei Wochen in Albanien. Er fotografierte für eine Broschüre über die Errungenschaften des Sozialismus. Am 14. August erfuhr er, dass die Staatsführung der DDR sämtliche Grenzen zum Westen rigoros schließt, dass in Berlin angefangen wurde, eine Mauer an der Grenze zu Westberlin zu bauen. Er glaubte dem Gerücht nicht. Am 25. August fuhr er, mit 45 belichteten Filmen, in die DDR zurück. In Berlin angekommen sah er mit eigenen Augen, was geschehen war, dass wirklich eine Mauer mitten durch die Stadt gebaut wurde. Wolfgang M. Krolow packte seinen Koffer und ging über einen noch nicht gesicherten versteckten Waldweg im Norden Berlins in den Westen. Später zog er nach München und arbeitete für ein Modemagazin.

 

Wolfgang Martin Krolow (photographer) born 1937 in Görlitz, was in Albania for three weeks in 1961. He made photographs for a booklet about the achievements of socialism. On August 14th he came to know, that the governement of the GDR planned to close all borders to the west, and that in Berlin they started to build a wall along the borderline to West-Berlin. He didn’t believe these rumours. On August 25th he went back to the GDR with 45 exposed films. Arriving in Berlin he saw with his very eyes, what had happened and that really a wall was being built through the middle of the city. Wolfgang M. Krolow packed his things and went across one of the not yet guarded hidden paths to the West in a forest in the north of Berlin. Later he moved to Munich and worked for a fashion magazine.
